Two heads not always better than one – try five instead!

There’s an old saying that two heads are better than one.

But ask Colin Shairp, if Fine and Country Southern Hampshire estate agents, and he reckons he can do even better with five heads.

He’s suggestion comes as he places a property in Five Heads Road, Horndean, on the market to help launch his 2018 portfolio.

“It’s a superb modern house called Highbank and there’s good clue about its setting in the name,” adds Colin. “It has been positioned with much of its garden at the front where it looks across Five Heads Road from an elevated position, taking in a view over recreation grounds and then all the way to the slopes of Portsdown Hill in the south.

“The house has a generous footprint, with a double garage integral to the ground floor but accessed via a driveway at the side of the rear garden. The garage could have potential for further living space, subject to consents, although most purchasers will probably find the house of sufficient proportions to meet their needs.

“At the front, behind a bay window, is the kitchen / breakfast room and across the hall from there is a separate dining room. The large sitting room at the rear has French windows onto the terrace and lawn that are features of the securely gated rear of the house.

On the first floor there are four bedrooms, two very generous doubles that are each en-suite and two further bedrooms served by a family bathroom. On the top floor is the master bedroom with en-suite shower and dressing rooms and further storage beyond.

“The house makes a superb family base close to the northern fringes of the Greater Portsmouth conurbation. The location makes it highly convenient for busy families with good schooling and shops close by and ready access to commuter routes yet equally convenient for getting out and about in the South Downs National Park which stretches north, east, and west for many miles and is gloriously unspoiled.”
Guide price is £585,000 (EPC Band B). For more information, contact Fine and Country Southern Hampshire on 023 93 277 277 or email
